Cash on delivery

Pay the courier in cash when your order arrives, where your country offers it. With the **Open before paying** badge, you can open the parcel in front of the courier before you pay.

Cash on delivery means you pay nothing when you order: you pay the courier in cash when the parcel reaches you. The option appears on the Checkout page when it's available for your country and your order, and the product page shows Cash on delivery under the buy button where it's offered.

How it works

  1. On the Checkout page, choose Cash on delivery.
  2. Press Place order. Your order goes straight to the sellers: no payment window, no waiting.
  3. Each seller's part comes as its own parcel, so you pay for each parcel, its items and delivery, when it arrives.
  4. If you used store credit on the order, the courier collects only the rest.

When it's offered

  • Only in countries where the store offers it. If your country doesn't have it, checkout won't show it.
  • For orders up to the limit set for your country, shown at checkout. If your order is above that, split it into smaller orders or pay online.
  • Not for gifts, because the recipient pays nothing.

Open before you pay

Some sellers join the Open before paying program, and its badge shows in the buy box on the product page. If you order from such a seller and pay cash on delivery, your order page reminds you: You may open the parcel in front of the courier before paying; if you don't like it, hand it back and pay nothing.

  1. Open the parcel in front of the courier and check the item.
  2. If it's what you expected, pay and keep it.
  3. If you don't like it, hand the parcel back and pay nothing. The refusal is recorded as your choice and that part of the order is cancelled.

Refunds on cash orders

When you return an item you paid for in cash, the money comes back as credit in your wallet as soon as the seller has the item, ready for your next orders. Read about returns and refunds.
